The meeting was called to order at 7:34 p.m.

Roll call indicated that the following clubs were not in attendance: Blue Ridge United, Brookland FC, Fredericksburg Soccer Club, Gunston Soccer Club, Hagerstown Soccer Club, Premier Athletic Club

Approval of Minutes
VISTA made a motion to approve the March 21, 2022 Board Meeting minutes. Leesburg seconded. There were no objections, and the motion was approved by acclamation.
New Club Application: DeMatha Soccer Academy
Howard Kohn gave a brief overview of the club, which is located in Prince George’s County in the Hyattsville area, which is fairly underserved by NCSL clubs. They would bring in five teams (all girls teams). A subcommittee of the Executive Committee met with the club and that subcommittee recommends their acceptance.
DeMatha’s representative, Andrew Quinn, joined the meeting as. He gave an overview of the club and the fields they have access to. In response to questions, Andrew described where the club’s teams are currently playing. The club is completely grassroots, which most players from the Hyattsville Route 1 corridor. The club has access to fields at DeMatha High School and Seton High School.
Andrew left the meeting.
Alexandria Soccer Association and Gunston Soccer Club are sponsoring the new club.
The floor was opened to discussion/input from those in attendance. OBGC spoke in support of DeMatha. There was some concern expressed about market saturation.
OBGC made a motion to approve DeMatha Soccer Academy as a new member club. Kohn seconded. The vote was called, and votes were submitted via a Zoom poll. All were in favor and the motion passed. Kohn will notify DeMatha of the decision.
Ryan Rich – NCSL Executive Director: The League championship playoff will be played in Long Island, NY. Almost all NCSL teams participating have been determined.
Ryan is working on another coaching education session, which will be held in early August.
Nominations for Coach of the Year are due May 23.
If clubs want to list tryout ads or coach positions on the NCSL website or social media, the information and links should be sent to Ryan.
Maureen Dalbec – NCSL Commissioner: No report.
Doug Walls – NCSL Commissioner: No report.
Carol Coulter – Virginia Registrar: No report.
Maryland Registrar - Jessica Hafer: No report (not present).
Alison Smith – NCSL Administrator: Alison asked reps to let her know right away when teams are scheduled to play in State Cup or President’s Cup. Most of the games that needed to be rescheduled from this past weekend’s storms have been rescheduled.
Applications for the fall season are open. All of the dates for the fall season are posted online on the website calendar.
Alison has been working with Demosphere’s tech support to fix the standings issues. This work has led to some old reschedule emails being pushed out. If they are for games that have already happened, they can be ignored. Alison is continuing to work on the standings and score issues/
Eric Popiel – Vice President & Treasurer: No report.
Carol Montoya – Secretary: No report.
Alan Paez – NCSL R&D: On behalf of Alan, Ryan asked reps to ensure sit out forms are promptly submitted.
Richard Smith – President: No report.
Other Business
Dan Giffin noted that tickets are available for DC United vs. Bayern Munich on Wednesday, July 20. He discussed ticket options where clubs/teams can avoid paying service fees on the tickets.
A motion was made by OGBC and seconded Kohn to adjourn. There were no objections, and the motion was approved by acclamation.
